Janssen-Cilag Australia is a leading research-based pharmaceutical company, employing more than 340 staff in Australia.
Janssen-Cilag provides prescription medicines for a range of conditions in the areas of mental health, neurology, women's health, haematology, gastroenterology, and pain management. Four Janssen-Cilag medicines are included in the World Health Organisation's Essential Drug list.
The research conducted by Janssen-Cilag Australia has resulted in a number of critical medicines being developed and made available to the Australian public.
These include:
- RISPERDAL® , used for the treatment of schizophrenia,
- REMINYL® , for the treatment of Alzheimer's Disease,
- TOPAMAX® , used for control of epilepsy,
- PARIET® , a treatment for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease,
- EPREX® , for anaemia in renal failure and oncology,
- PROGRAF® , which is an immunosuppressant used in organ transplants and
- DUROGESIC® , a transdermal patch for relief from chronic and severe pain.
